About the Instructor - Jordan Fritz Jordan is known for his unique approach to impressionist and abstract landscapes.  Painting mostly in studio, but with experience working in plein air, Jordan brings a range of experience with different subjects and mediums to his teaching. Jordan embraces the importance of individuality and expression in the process of creating successful, authentic paintings. He also believes in building a strong foundation of skills, and knowledge, starting with the principles of what makes good art. Landscapes have been Jordan's focus for most of his career, where he draws inspiration from his home at French Beach on Vancouver Island. As someone who connects deeply with the natural world, his paintings tell the visual stories of these places that have been a major part of his journey. In the last two years, Jordan has expanded his horizons, exploring new territories of abstraction in oils, which have allowed him to bring a whole new range of techniques and skills to his practice. Jordan is excited to share his experiences, his focus on the artistic process, and individual expression and experimentation as a form of healing and therapy, in combination with his understanding of the importance of technique and foundational skills.
