Held: A Conversation with Red Cedar
There are places that allow us to be ourselves. The old growth forests of Vancouver Island are one of them.
This collection is about what it feels like to be in the forest — not what it looks like. The weight of it. The stillness. The way it holds you when everything else feels uncertain.
Paintings made from the land they came from. Cedar charcoal. Old growth panels. Pigments worked by hand from the earth around my home on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
