Finding friends and community who embody the same values and stand for the same things as you can be hard to come by. As an artist, my work is fuelled by a love for the natural world and a need to share this love and appreciation with my community.
Working as an Independent artist, I spend a great deal of time on my own; working in the studio, travelling in my van, and working my own booths at markets and events around British Columbia. Working as an independent artist and entrepreneur, you begin to really appreciate those moments when you can connect with collectors, friends, other businesses and people in the community.
When local sustainable clothing brand Anian Mfg. approached me and asked if I would like to collaborate, I knew it was the perfect match. A leader in sustainable fashion, Anian creates the highest quality apparel for active lifestyles on the West Coast. As someone who spends excessive amounts of time in the wet, rugged environment of Vancouver Island, Anian's clothing is the best money can buy.
Anian is all about the circular economy - giving life to what most would consider trash, and creating something recycled and beautiful. Learn more about Anian's story and their line of goods here.
During the development of my new Coastal Collection called 'Release', I had the opportunity to paint at the flagship store in Victoria and chat about the story behind the new collection, and paint in front of dozens of folks in the shop. The finished pieces can be found here, and the story behind the series can be found here.
Anian will now be carrying a select few of my original paintings in-store, and a handful of prints and art cards. Head into the shop in Victoria to see what's available!
Coming soon, I will be visiting the new Anian Store in Kitsilano, Vancouver to display and sell some of my prints, stay tuned for more details on my Instagram page here!
